DIRECT VENT GAS FIREPLACES

Direct Vent Gas Fireplaces do not require a chimney and can be vented directly through a wall or roof. The direct vent draws its combustion air from outside so unlike a traditional wood fireplace it does use the already warm air from inside your house for combustion. Additionally all unburned gases or contaminates are vented back outside. Direct venting also eliminates drafts and heat loss associated with a typical fireplace.

VENT-FREE / VENTLESS GAS FIREPLACES

Vent-free fireplaces are beautiful, affordable, easy to install, and economical to operate. A ventless gas Fireplace is a complete, compact system. There is no costly venting to run and you will have more options in where the unit can be installed within the home.

Vent Ventless fireplaces use air from inside your home for combustion and burn 99.9 efficiently. This means that the heat produced by a Vent Free Fireplace stays in your home.

It also means that any airborne contaminants in your home may be pulled into the unit, burned, and vented back into your home.

While it does not happen often some clients have complained that there are odors associated with these units. Typically things like pet dandruff or hair can be pulled into the unit and burned creating an odor.

Additionally, log placement on these units is critical. Incorrectly placed logs can result in harmful gases, odors, and soot build-up. Finally, most manufacturers do not recommend that you burn vent-free inserts for more than three or four hours continuously. Although these units produce little to no heat, with the new LED and 3-D technologies these units produce a flame effect that is indistinguishable from the real thing.

We are also finding that these are great options for commercial, office, and restaurant spaces where you want to provide your customers with an interesting visual display while they wait. In many cases, these are less expensive than more traditional options like fish tanks.
